God what happend to the blog !

Guys am selling this on ebay if anyone is interested.
Got it at a garage sale years ago. Hardly ever played so am selling it.
This is also in line with my efforts to get rid of all my stuff that I didnt use in this last 2 yrs.
Also I have stopped buying things for the past 1 year unless i really really need it.
Pretty Drastic measure huh. I have to minimize things plus you can only have so many things ! I usually throw out stuff or as they say spring clean twice every year. Becasue if I have to move I have to pack and ship all my stuff.

I hardly have anything kept at home in Malaysia.

I know you guys prob have most of your stuff back in your chilhood room. I shipped my whole life here few years back. I can still remember when I came back after a year working here I packed up the whole room and my dad stood at the door and said ''so you really are taking everything and going to make a life out there huh''... I then opened up the cupboard to reveal a huge pile clothes, most of my baju kebaya's hanging, and a drawer full of those little nick knacks and then he smiled. Knowing that I will always be Daddy's little girl and I will always have him to come back to.

SO BID OK !

Ps: Today I had my first practical UK driving lesson. Msian drivers cant be converted. No big surprise there ! Anywas the car I drove was quite cool for a medium sized car. I always think that they give you really crappy old cars (Maybe this is the Malaysian driving schools) but mine was a fairly new Silver Renault Megan Turbo 1.5 Diesel ,no key just card and starts with a button ! You can Google Image the car if you are interested. On btw I have to book my practical test online ! HOW COOL IS THAT !!!!

I digress. The topic i wanted to touch on was:
I was chatting with eugene for a little bit just now, and apparently most of us tigers have known each other for about 11 years. (from form1)
Some go back as far as 18 years (counting kindergarten - i cant remember which of you kids all went to either chim or diyana).

Holy hot balls!
18 years is an entire persons lifetime. If anyone asks you a time when you DID'NT know So-and-so, your answer would be: i was 6 years old. I have absolutely no memory of a time in my life when i did not know this person.

Another brief:
Apparently, most people are considered "self-actualized" in their early to mid 20's. With most of us turning a ripe 24 this year, our personalities and emotional habits have been hardwired in our brains. This is it. Our personalities will not change (in general) till the day we die.

I just hope i don't die an asshole.

Post-Mortem & Damage Control

Okay, it's already Wednesday back in Malaysia, which means Hari Bahasa Malaysia is over. I thank everyone of you for participating in this thing and as the Master Tiger said, it was pretty successful.

Also, I was alerted about what happened back home earlier regarding the pantuns we made. After reading everything I've came to the conclusion the we, the participants in this blog were indeed at fault to what has happened here.

To Yudhis, on behalf of everyone on this blog, we offer you our sincerest apology for what we have written in this blog the past 24 hours. We were just having too much fun and we got carried away, forgetting the golden rule of blogging here. Though none of us meant it as an insult in anyway, the fact that it made you unhappy and upset meant that we had done something very wrong. While we are committed to the right of freedom of expression for all bloggers here, we do not condone what we did on Tuesday. As an act of retribution, I will remove any post or comments that you want to be removed. Again, please accept our sincerest apology. We meant no harm.

I can assure you and everyone else that this will not happen again. All bloggers please take note. Have fun, but don't get carried away.

Barring this incident, I think we can continue to have Tuesdays as our BM day. I suggested sajak for next week but the lioness suggested haiku instead, which i think is more fun, though it'll be slightly tougher than pantun. Also please remember that ALL POST & COMMENTS on that day must be in BM. I'll make an exception this week for the post by Yudhis earlier for obvious reasons.

Let's see...

Graduated August 2006 from the University of Malaya in Environmental Science and Management.

Currently working at the Malaysian University Consortium for Environment & Development (MUCED) and is a Member of Environmental Protection Society Malaysia (EPSM), Muslim Professionals Forum (MPF) and Young Muslims Project (YMP).

Hopefully in September 2007 I'll begin working with the Education for Sustainable Development for Malaysian Secondary Schools (ESD-MASS) Programme which will be a UNESCO-Ministry of Education programme.

Will also start working on the up-coming Foundation for Orang Asli. I'm one of the three people in charge of forming the Foundation, as well as the ESD-MASS programme. Both programmes will be National Programmes (i.e. the whole of Malaysia) (i.e. no life) (i.e. but good salary!)

In my spare time...if any...i read, go to the movies, and am currently trying to master the art of gaining weight using positive thinking!

Weekends are currently filled with the SLiM meetings (http://www.muced.um.edu.my/slim.htm) as well as the bi-monthly Young Muslims Project (YMP) get-together.

I've not been taken. UM girls suck! am waiting to go to Europe for my Masters and will start looking then. besides, Malaysia is seriously lacking in tall ladies :p

What is everyone up to?

In general.
After reading eugenes post, i realize that most of us have really grown apart from each other. I'm not sure where some of you are, what you kids do for a living.. stuff that friends should know about each other. And i constantly find myself annoyed that i cannot "stay connected" well enough to all of you.

So in an effort not to grow any further apart from you all- this is a quick brief of what i am up to (for those of you who dont already know).

I graduated 2 years ago(may 2005), from the university of Minnesota in mechanical engineering. Got an awesome job immediately after, and i think i'll do this for a good long while.
I work as a product engineer and designer, making recreational products primarily for people with disabilities. (www.blueskydesigns.us) - i am proud of and believe in what i do. I just got a raise last year, so make enough money to live quite comfortably.
In my spare time, i typically read, rock climb and go muay thai kickboxing. I like to cycle a lot. and i've also been taking a lot of outdoor climbing trips.
Weekends, i hit the bars with friends. (i stopped clubbing/raving) - sometimes even salsa dancing .
I think my local (minneapolis/st.paul) radio station is the best radio station in the world, and i try to make it out to more local shows than big arena ones. i dont know much about popular music nowadays, but i tend to seek out underground hip hop, rock and electronica.
I am also taken. (hehehe)

So thats me.
I hope to hear something of the same from all of you.

Beer Contains Female Hormones (is this true?)

Should I stop drinking??

Last month, National University of Lesotho Scientists released the results of a recent analysis that revealed the presence of Female Hormones in beer.

Men should take a concerned look at their beer consumption. The theory is that beer contains Female Hormones (hops contain phytoestrogens) and that by drinking enough beer, men turn into women.

To test the theory, 100 men drank 8 pints of beer each within a 1 hour period. It was then observed that 100% ofthe test subjects:

1) Argued over nothing.
2) Refused to apologize when obviously wrong.
3) Gained weight.
4) Talked excessively without making sense.
5) Became overly emotional.
6) Couldn't drive.
7) Failed to think rationally
8) Had to sit down while urinating.

The Prestige

Have you guys seen The Prestige? The movie about magic??(Rajen and Lam - you'll find this particularly good because of the magic tricks in it as well) Haha I'm sure most of you guys have, and you have to agree with me that its a fantastic movie. I just watched it again, and I have to tell you that this is one of the few movies that just begs to be watched again. It might leave you a little confused at first, and that is whats so intriguing about it. Trust me though, the second time you watch it, you'll realize how everything seamlessly connects. And this movie does something that not many can - it diminishes the thin fine line between good and evil. Who do you think is the bad guy here? Most other movies you can easily tell, but in this movie, you start hating one guy, but towards the end, you're not sure if he's the bad one anymore.

There are also many references here to real magicians - a famous magician named Ching Ling Foo (early 1900s) had a bitter rivalry with another guy that stole his act and tried to make it better. He even named himself close to the real guy - Chung Ling Soo. He made his life an act to pull off his magic - although completely able to speak English, he pretended he could not even out in public and off stage. Actually, the novel that this movie is based on borrows heavily from this rivalry.

Just like Memento, this movie has some crazy chronological editing in it (Christopher Nolan directed that as well, so go figure). I guess I have a passion to learn as much as I can about stuff I really enjoy ie music, certain movies, computers etc and just because.. say I dont know all the capital cities in the world, it doesnt make me unintellectual. And with a blog like this, I can share stuff that I find interesting with you guys :)

On Joke of the Week

Am posting this because there are some Tigers who sway the OTHER SIDE as well.- Rajen... ermmm Rajen !Time to come out in the closet.

There is not a woman alive today who won't crack up over this! AND ALSO BECAUSE WE HAVE FEMALE VISITORS and also some of you need to know what a women goes through! - Joke I received by email.

I was due for an appointment with the gynaecologist later in the week.
Early one morning, I received a call from the doctor's office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am.
I had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already are around 8:45 am. The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn't have any time to spare.

As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making
such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pyjamas, wet the washcloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash in that area to make sure I was at least presentable.

I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment.I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when I was called in.
Knowing the procedure, as I'm sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some other place a million miles away.

I was a little surprised when the doctor said, "My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven't we?" I didn't respond. After the appointment, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day was normal. Some shopping, cleaning, cooking.

After school when my 6 year old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, "Mommy, where's my washcloth?" I told her to get another one from the cupboard.

She replied, "No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter and sparkles saved inside it." I am NEVER going back to that doctor ever going back to that doctor again!!

To try something different?

Alright guys.. I've got a (minor) decision to make with what I can do with my spare time. As you guys know me from before, I love playing the music I listen to as per Coma Matter and high school (remember playing Last Kiss in Form 4? hahaha good times!). As of now, I am looking around and about to start a band here. First thing I gotta do is get a drum kit, which I am saving up for now(those who are more musically inclined ie Lam and Nick - I'll be asking you guys for your opinions on what kit to get soon) but an opportunity has come up for me to do something entirely different - the Latin/Salsa scene.

You read right. This is what happens when you have a crazy Chilean friend/colleague that is popular in Sydney as a Latin DJ and dancer (you can google him - DJ WillieSabor, probably more hits at google.com.au) and he's trying to convince me to try dancing and be a percussionist for his DJ shows. Lets face it - I am a shit dancer, and even though he said he will train me up without a problem, I dont think I am confident enough to try that. But a conga player at nightclubs? Hmm... lets break it down to a few pro's of doing that:

1) Women.
2) Women.
3) I get paid to go out to nightclubs to play.
4) Its something totally different, which can be pretty exciting.
5) Its fun, and I can already get the contacts for a good start, unlike my first love.
6) Did I mention the hot Australian and South American women? I think I did :)

I am aware that something like this is not very intellectual, and I know that I will get some negative comments for even considering this(and please do not judge me, I'm not that seriously into this). But.. What the heck. Its not going to change who I am - its just something on the side. Its not going to hurt to try different stuff while you still can, right? And its something shockingly different. I mean.. its almost like trying to imagine Lam or Rajen being a salsa dancer(hahah sorry!).

I actually had second thoughts posting this.. but fuck it. So what do you guys think? Would you try it? Penny for your thoughts :)

its been awhile... well, the reason why i haven been able to post anything was because i have been caught up with work thus forgetting my password. anyway, thanks to grand master tiger (rajen) i have managed to enter the den once more. since i have never posted much, i just want to thank all the tigers and the lone liger; which in fact is a mix between a tiger and a lion, well that is a whole different story all together; for keeping this blog up! kudos to all of you. its really good to be able to come home every night and to read all the nonsense which you guys write. its freaking entertaining hey..
well, for those who are not familiar with me, apparently i'm the aussie tiger, but i think theres two here in the land down under. the lain- lain tiger is the other (juls). first of all, i'm doing quite fine here in melbourne. weathers been a touch too cold for my tropical unbringing but i'm managing. recently, i've been offered the head chef position at my current place and the thought of it has been a bit daunting to me. simply because for the tigers which grew up with me, i've never been the one with much character. and to lead a bunch of pyscho's in a hot, small kitchen is in fact can abit stressful. but so far so good, no one has lost a finger yet; not a whole one anyway.
i for that matter have had 5 sticthes on my forehead, almost lost half my finger, and had 2 pyschotic episodes in my time i have worked here. but it has been a journey and to see all my good friends out there doing well and enjoying every moment of it, i salute you. to kwai lo tiger; man! i thought you sudah mati! i haven seen you for like ages bro!! to the lioness, i think we should call you liger.. nice to have finally see what the big hoo ha is about! cheers hey! and to the rest of the tigers, lets keep the all rolling and stay in touch! by the way, john rambo kicks ass!!! in the words of nic, KEGANASAN!! hell ya! thanks to t3 (lam) for that. well, to beatrice, i know you come to this site every morning, i have finally posted something. well, more kitchen stories in the many months to come! cheers buddies! and keep on posting.

Okay, since everyone was so fascinated with BM as if it was some exotic language from some pacific island, I've decided to make every Tuesday of the week as BM day for this blog. Any post AND comments that is publish between 12:01am to 12:00 midnight Tuesday, standard Malaysian time (+800 GMT) will have to be in BM.

Posts that are time stamped Tuesdays but are in any language other than BM will be deleted. I hope there is support from all TTDI Tigers and Lioness for this thing. Failure to comply may result in your blogging privileges being revoked.

Remember, only Tuesdays, all posts and all comments must be in BM. What do you think? We are Malaysians after all, and we must love our national language. This is one small little thing we can do for our country. I would like this to start next Tuesday, May 29th.

Eh, wat tuition you go ah?

Seeing as how none of us really paid much attention in school during the early tiger era, what tuitions did everyone take? I just remember a whole party of you kids went to ms dhillon for add. maths (eugene and i went to ms. radha).

Why the fudge did we have to go take so much tuition anyway? Aside from occasional semi-psychotic pregnant collapsing teachers (i doubt anyone remembers this), was the education system set in place so poorly that none of us trusted that we could learn anything in school?

I just remembered we had another semi psychotic teacher who drove into a tree outside the canteen.

And we also had a discipline teacher who had some odd fixation with twisting little boys nipples. Strict authoritative figure? or a sadistic perv who liked to fondle post adolescent boys? My memories fail me.

I apologize for any likenesses to people real or imagined.

Statistik juga menunjukkan kebanyakan pelawat blog ini berasal dari Malaysia, diikuti Amerika Syarikat, United Kingdom dan Australia. Memang statistik yang dikumpul ini termasuk harimau-harimau/singa betina sekalian yang sering melawat blog ini tetapi ini hanyalah bilangan yang kecil jika dibandingkan jumlah pelawat yang diterima. Kita juga menerima pelawat dari negara-negara Eropah yang lain seperti Sepanyol, Portugal dan Belgium.

Oleh kerana sambutan hangat yang diterima blog ini, saya berharap harimau-harimau/singa betina sekalian akan terus menerbitkan utusan-utusan yang menarik dan menghiburkan. Welcome Gliese Planet 581 c.

Exciting news today! Astronomers have discovered a planet outside of our solar system, orbiting a red dwarf star 120 trillion miles away from earth, which may prove to be be habitable. This may be the needle in the haystack we've been looking for. Welcome Gliese Planet 581 c.

The red dwarf star, Gliese 581, which this planet orbits, is much smaller than our sun, cooler and dimmer, but may still prove to be enough to support life on this nearby planet discovered by astronomers at the European Southern Observatory in La Sille, Chile. Using a 3.6 meter telescope and a technique called radial velocity, they detected a "wobble" in the stars observed frequencies which indicate the presence of an orbital body.

From the data they can gather based on their observations, they have determined the orbital rate, an that the planet is either a rocky planet like earth, or a large icy body. More study is required to know for sure whether or not this planet is in fact habitable.

The planet has a 13 day orbit around its star, which is about 28 times shorter than the 365 days it takes for earth to orbit the sun. That means if you were 30 earth years old and lived on Gliese Planet 581 c, you be approximately 840 years old.

So you see, age is just a number!!!!

Hi Tigers,

Thought I'd share this since it was Mother's Day. Love them, care for them and say 'I Love you' to them. I know we are not a very expressive society but best to let them know how much we appreciate them while they are still here. I know we don't really like reading long stuff but this one is worth it. Even if you have read it before its good to re-read and to reflect and apreciate what we have.

A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and he handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on.
After his mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:

For cutting the grass: $5.00
For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00
For going to the store for you: .50
Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: .25
Taking out the garbage: $1.00
For getting a good report card: $5.00
For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00
Total owed: $14.75

Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he'd written on, and this is what she wrote:

"For the nine months I carried you while you grew inside me: No Charge.

this place is a legend!!! we were there even before they opened up 'Mosin' in the early 90's..so u know how serious this shit is...no joke man!!!

it's more like a place where we'll usually ends up if our 'plans' for the night is not happening...but most of the time it's a place where we all will go and catch up with our buddies...i still remember there was this season. we called it 'Laughing Season'.this was back in the college days where our gang is still 'Tight' and quite a number of ppl la. so what happened is.we'll chill the whole nite from 9pm til 3-4am just cracking jokes like nobodies business and laughing our heads off...
those were really the days man. care free , money is not even an issue,working stress..and all that matters is, what time you guys going to the field? what time is the movie? what time you finish college tomoro? ei,you goin to ainul's party tonite? and the list goes on....
Mosin is also a place where we meet new ppl.as in friends friend's friend...prefrably our friend's girlfriend's friend's friend...if you're lucky who knows if you might get O.N.S...hehe

Liger

The liger, while not a true mutation, is a cross (hybrid) between a male lion and a female tiger making it a member of genus Panthera. It looks like a giant lion with diffused stripes. A cross between a male tiger and a female lion is called a Tigon.

Known ligers exist due to human influence, either by deliberate human intervention, or by humans putting lions and tigers in enclosed spaces together. In natural conditions tigers and lions generally do not inhabit the same territory. There have been no confirmed reports of natural interbreeding, though there are historic claims that this has happened.

Ligers grow much larger than tigers or lions and it is believed this is because female lions transmit a growth-inhibiting gene to their descendants to balance the growth-promoting gene transmitted by male lions. The hormonal hypothesis is that the cause of the male Liger's growth is his sterility - essentially, the male liger remains in the pre-pubertal growth phase. This is not quite upheld by behavioral evidence - regardless of all being sterile, many male ligers become sexually mature and mate with females.

In addition, female ligers also attain great size but are fertile.As female ligers are fertile and can be mated to a tiger resulting in ti-liger offspring or to a lion resulting in li-liger offspring. A behavioral research program in the USA has bred a female ti-liger called Lady Kali; at 2 years old she weighed 400 lbs.Ligers have a tiger-like striping pattern on a lion-like tawny background. In addition they may inherit rosettes from the lion parent. These markings may be black, dark brown or sandy. The background color may be correspondingly tawny, sandy or golden.

On Garing Garing Udang !

I'm feeling really strange today. I cant tell you why, I wish I knew myself...

So here I am lunch time over a blog having my salad and strips of honey ham. I have a salad Monday-Friday.

Don't ask me how I do it. I don't know my self. I keep psyching myself that its good for me. I'm getting my 5 portions of vege and fruit a day etc. Since Scotland is quite sorry correction extremely cold, many people from the FarEast didn't quite reach here. Unlike London, where I found the best Chicken Charsew there. Why ? Coz it was made exactly how its done in Malaysia but the quality of the pork was so so good. So succulent ! hmhmhmmh. Fyi pork here is very clean. I even tried the coke test.

I did nothing today ! No work at all. I tried to start but I just couldn't. I feel like having buttered prawns. Guys back home, never take your food for granted.

What a post ! Writers block ! I typed 3 times and deleted it. Cant be too revealing and mellow this is a fun blog !

Shit Happens.

Wanna know what happens when a 4WD with huge bull bars hits the side of your car? Take a look. Hurts, doesn't it? The fucking idiot. Now I'm carless for about a week, and hopefully the insurance company assesses that I am not at fault and he is. Otherwise, I've a grand or more to pay for repairs.

A lesson for everyone: you can be so careful on the road, but you have to make sure that other fuckheads around you are careful as well. Thats pretty impossible, so the best thing to do is to keep your distance from other cars on the road.

After reading Lam's quarter-life crisis post, i am stuck trying to remember the person i wanted to be when i "grew up". How and when the hell do i get there??
While our parallels are getting married, having children and acting like proper adults; at what point do we consider ourselves "grown up"?

If i were talking to a 16 year old nicholas lee, the conversation would (hypothetically) be like:

Me (24): So, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Me (16): I wanna be rich, famous and have all the fine honeys.
Me (24): Nope. Fucked up on all 3. Sorry.

Me (24): By your standards, it sorta sucks to be you in 8 years. So stop being an arrogant dick.

I realize we (myself mostly) seem to be very nostalgic about the oldskool and days of yonder.

Let's just say i'm happy with my childhood. And for the most part, i'm not done with it. (toys R Us jingle in the background?)
Maturity is over-rated. Be happy with who you are and where you're going. Growing up doesn't necessarily involve acting like an old useless prick. Do what it takes to get by and whining only pisses people off. In other words: stop being a pussy. It'll be fine. Life gets good.

To anyone that appreciates music, seeing Dave Matthews Band live should be on the top of their list. Seeing them is not all about the fancy lights and huge LCD screens that every other band has. Its all about the music. Seriously, you won't come across another band with as much talent as these guys. With the way they seamlessly blend into each other's notes and how they can pull off a jam session out of practically every song, its just.. unbelievable.

I know it seems like its only now I'm getting into them, but for those of you that haven't heard their music yet, its definitely worth a look. Nick - you should've tried exposing them to me a long time ago :) I still remember you showing me the Before These Crowded Streets cd at your place when we were in.. form 3 or 4. Pity I didn't make more of an effort to listen to them then.
