Well I guess its not me alone it was us. Last night I went to sleep at 10.30pm... yeah now days I get up early and go to the gym before work. I got a text in the middle of the night not sure what time from Julian saying that I forgot this birthday 2 days ago !!!! OMG OMG OMG !!! Felt so bad that I forgot and after that I slept but it was at the back of my mind.

So I came early to work to type this HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIAN !!! message.

On Staying Alive

So you all know MJ is dead. Sedih when I was watching the news. Why could he not have stayed alive for 1 more month!!!! So am still going to London as I also booked a theatre and also to have some Malaysian food. More variety in London.
Next week im going to Prague for a weekend break followed by the Ne-yo concert

Also i realised something today. Few blogs that I have been reading have been slandering people, having augments in the comments section etc. Basically not nice things happening. It kind of upsets me to an extent why people behave and find pleasure like that. And no i don't know these people i was just blog hopping. This one girl kena so teruk today i checked she closed her whole blog down.
Im so grateful to belong to this blog to these bunch of folk (i.e you ).

Thirdly - Semalam I came to work looked on the net saw good deals to Prague and booked it ! Just like that. Going in July 2 weeks time.

Fourthly I would like to thank the tigers who took time to come and see me for a yum cha @ Mohsein where else.

Fifthly the Edinburgh Film fest has already started tonight am going to watch a show and the Ed Fringe fest is starting in August.

On Bodoh-ness or Pandai-ness

I have always been a great fan of British TV. TV programmes here have really opened my mind up as compared to the programmes we get back home which is basically what only the government wants you to know. People here really question things and thinking process rather critical. Example : Dispatches, Panorama etc. In fact it was one of the programmes about God Good, Bad and Evil that lead me to discover that I don't really need religion to tell me to do good things. Anyways that's my discovery journey.

Mark Dolan's programmes have always been of interest to me. He has a very subtle way of questioning different angles or aspects. This is what today's post from me is about. A Channel 4 programme 'The World and Me'- Broadcaster Mark Dolan meets children with mind-boggling mental capacities - but are these young geniuses a force of nature or the product of some intensive nurture?

Sometime this week, I received a text from someone telling me ''Watch this now Malaysian kid on Channel 4. Let me know what you think'.'
I missed the show as I was out but fear not there is always the watch online option. The next day at work Patrick my French friend who resides in Glasgow - very into the movie making scene sent me an msn saying ''Am watching Mark Dolan. Malaysian kid something not right.'' Since few folk had mentioned this few hours ago I sat down with my faithful laptop (btw President Obama and me have the same laptop !) and watched the show.

The show focused on 3 child prodigies an American girl, A Malaysian boy and A Singaporean boy.
I don't have much time as really guys I should be spending my weekends playing my WII so I will go on to write brief notes on this Malaysian boy : - Adi Putra. Go google he has his own site etc.

1. The kid has this professor friend agent who told Mark he can speak 8 languages.
What are they?
French, German, Bahasa Malaysia, then wait for it... British English, American English, Singaporean English.... As this point Mark went to say:

So Adi can say : - Can I have those trousers and can I have those pants ! LOL LOL Mark went on to say maybe someday he will speak Scottish English AYE !!!!!
- The truth is when Mark interviewed this kid he hardly could open his mouth.
His speech was not fluent ...gagap lots of ahhh ahhh ahhh ..... At this point I belive his French and German would be close to non existent. Compared to the American girl, the way Adi came across communication wise was just like any kid his age actually am sorry there quite a few kids his age who are much more fluent. I tell you all this kid could speak was MANGLISH !

2. Professor mentioned to Mark that Adi was not only a Maths genius but can also predict the future. He also has this whole marketing thing where Adi markets his brand name.
Adi tshirts, caps, even Adi smart pills for left and right brain. Hence Mark asks him: (not exact dialogue)

MARK: So you predict things etc. How do you come about these ideas?
ADI: AAAAhhhhh I dream about it then I wake up I tell my parents and sell the products. I had the idea when I was 8.
MARK: So you had the idea to make these smart pills that helps the brain in the middle of the night. Did you have the recipe for the pills or idea what goes in the pills?
ADI: Yes, Yes
MARK: So what goes in the pills? ..... (Wait for it.....)
ADI : I don't really remember it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaHAHAHahhahahahahaha

This is when Marks politely comments It may have been the language barrier, ( How is this possible right since u speak like 30 types of English)but I am beginning to wonder if the real Adi is as potent as the myth that surrounded him.

MARK: Professor says you can predict the future- 6 sense. Is that right
ADI: Yes
MARK: What things you dreamt about?
ADI: I cant really remember
MARK: Can u tell me something that is going to happen in the world?
ADI: I don't remember but I know one day we will all die LOL LOL SERIOUSLY HAHAHAHAH

Mark was frustrated. This poor kid was made sales gimmick by people around him! I feel sad for the kid. The kid has Mathematical abilities I give him that but his other claims well am sure this one you can figure out for your self. This is where I find programmes here most impressive. They seek, they question, they critically think and most importantly you the viewers can decide.

OH the main highlight is : RAJEN YES OUR VERY OWN DADDY was the guide for the UK crew. Not sure guide or what Rajen correct me if I'm wrong. I was jumping up and down when I could see side view of Rajen walking in with the crew.
WHOO HOO glamour on UK tv ! So I rang him like 3 times. Bad line. AFter some time, he rang me back we had a brief chit chat about this and well I said to Rajen ''I cant believe it you met MARK DOLAN !! am such a fan of his.''

On The Sahara

Hi Tigers,

Am off again on my travels. I don't call them holidays as I think holidays are something u just go sit by the beach and do nothing.

Well am off to Marrakech & Sahara Desert , Morocco. I will be camping in the desert, camel ride, some trekking up the Atlas Mountain. Am really excited coz the desert sky is lovely at night banyak stars !!!

Plus at night the locals Berber folk as they are called will sit around the fire and play music ! But there will be no toilet. I will just have to pee behind the sand dunes etc.

So wish me luck bit takut also you know people have told me that they can hassle you etc !!!!!

Am so excited because these are the kind of things you read in geography textbooks !

But for now I have so much work to sort out am freaking out !

On What Am Feeling - PART 1

*Warning nothing to do with any of you lot*

So this month marks 5 years of me working abroad. Which also means I have spent 5 of my birthdays, All the Celebrations we celebrate in Malaysia, public holidays for God knows what occasion, family events, birthday etc being abroad.

After being abroad several years here are the things that I have observed :-

1. People forget you and only remember you when you are due back for a holiday because they have this tak malu (no shame) attitude of asking things from the UK. Let me say how much I DISLIKE getting things for people when they have not had the courtesy of even asking how I am doing over here. All I am allowed is 20 kg. 20 kg is actually nothing ! I go for business trips and its already 16kgs. This is balik Malaysia of course I have to load up my bag with all my skimpy clothes because over here my legs never see the light of day. Plus now I'm a diver my dive suit and kasut all taking alot of space.

So priority my things go first.

Why should I pay for your excess baggage mind u very strict. Over 1 kg pay ! - Esp when you don't fly from 'Main' destinations because I have to connect at London so usually these smaller carriers - short haul are very strict.

My gosh now days for 1 piece of the usual checked bag allowance also must pay. So for short 'personal' trips i usually bawak 1 piece of hand luggage and the liquid thing makes it worse so everything has to go into wee bottles 100ml per bottle collectively not more then 1 L. I fly so often I hafal all the ruels of the airports.

Then some people have the cheek to ask me to buy men's shoes ! do you know how big and heavy they are. Clarks ! Hmph even my dad goes to 1U Clarks and buy. Memang ! terrible.

Then when I say ok I can buy and post it to you because I have no space tak nak... then I have to pay excess baggage ! Btw I do all my shopping in Malaysia this esp includes shoes (this excludes winter clothing and boots) Its cheaper !

Then there are people who ask me to buy never pay full amount, I have to ask for the cash benci lah !

But if you are my friend and keep in touch with me 100% whole heatedly before I fly back lunch time i go search for things. Kan Daddy !

Once Twigy did ask me to buy her the brides mate stuff that one I totally can understand coz u dont get stuff like those back home plus twiggy and I have formed a special cyber friendship. Also we both know Brenny Boy. But of course makcik told me like 2 days before i balik how to order ler. Summore Tshirt je. Or Daddy mintak small cenderahati with his muka hamster. These people all I dont mind because they are in touch with me.

Memang some people pernah mintak turn table ! Where to find also I don't know !!! REALLY PEOPLE !!!! - Moreover this guy tak pernah call me since Uni ! Once day ringing my UK mobile how he got my number also I tak tahu.

Being abroad sometimes can be difficult because you are detached from the life you once knew. And you feel like you still need to belong someway or another.

So all I ever wish for is to get some news, stories, emails that really makes me happy. Sometimes during my 'mendung' days i check my personal email 10 times a day just hoping for some nice email.

Alot of people use busy as an excuses its like we got nothing better to do.

The thing is if you want you will make the time.Not ''eh when you are back can you please get me some duty free stuff, chocolate etc''. So in the past year I have decided to cut off friends like this. It did hurt that I was the one doing all the calling and emailing etc. But once I got them out of my system it felt so much better.

Wait for Part 2. Please comment coz I love knowing who reads my nonsense and this might give me semangat(inspiration) to write up part 2. Actually the truth is I just wanted to list the things but being an ex literature student bit susah. Plus writting is helping me feel much better not about the above but other things.

Also I would like to say my condolences to Che Guevara who has had a recent passing in his family lately.

On Computers with Nationalities

Hello My Tigers,

Guess what am typing from a French computer and a Mac ! Think this is the first time that am using a Mac. Usually just tengok je. Hope Lam will be proud of me.

I find it strange that even computers have naitionalities. The keyboard is very confusing its AZERTYUIOP as opposed to QWERTY. I was following the Anwar by-elections yesterday and half way the star online page just would not refresh. Otherwise nothing exciting except that Ra-jen has asked me to kawin him. Masih ade yang sayang. Im missing home and food. Today I rang home and even managed to say Hello to the dog he barked. Least it still rememberes me. Ok I cant type anymore its really difficult with all the éçèà etc........ Anyways in the autumn i will be moving on to French Level 4 hopefully.

Hello All My Boys and Cute and Cuddly Tigers,

How is everyone holding up? Its been a bit iffy for me but that is probably because its the middle of the week. Few things are ticking me off but its ok I hope in a few days time it will be ok.

So I read this post http://yearofthaboomerang.blogspot.com/2008/05/stuck.html on Sam's blog and it was so funny ! Lengkap dengan gambar !!! My gosh I was wondering what if it happened to me ? READ THIS NO REGRETS !!!!

Then I visited Twiggy's blog with her surprise honeymoon. WOWWW never hear of that one before think i also wanna kawin lerrrrr heheheh

Then today I have this lovely dress on to work because I think I will feel better if I make the effort to go to work instead of the usual jeans. Yup, I can wear jeans to work COOL EH !!! Provided no clients ler that day or outside meeting with outside people.

Weather/ Cuaca - today is still Winter here in Edinburgh. Gloomy no sun etc. Its kind of depressing i need the sun. I was going to go to the NHS (National Health Service) to ask for the sun light that mirrors the sun but my doctor friend said they will refer me to a shrink etc etc first then blah blah wait list etc !!! God I don't want to be mentally assessed I'm not crazy I'm just from a hot country that's used to sun who will go crazy if I cant get any sun or sunlight !!!! HOW LAAAAAAAAAA

Then I had a wee chat with 'Who's yr Daddy' he has done so well for himself so proud of u.

Then Greggs told me he is home. Eat on my behalf OK. Congrats on your new life choice.

Yes Finally I'm gonna see the goo goo dolls in Dublin. None of the dates are in Scotland and the other dates were in England. So I rang my friend in Dublin who initially thought there were a hantu,heavy metal band.

I was so annoyed as he did not want to go with me when he went to see Enrique !!! I mean seriously who prefers Enrique over GGDs right !!! So in all frustration i marah-marah him n letak phone and said that I have known him since i was 4, yes 4 tahun kanak- kanak ribena time that if at all he should just go with me and do this for me and not let a hot lioness go alone to gigs.

Then after 2 days he rang me said he listened to their songs and he has heard some on the radio and his friends are coming along as well. So am so hyper, that every day I'm dressing like a rock start to work. FINALLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will update after the concert !!!!

On Barney Tiger

Hey Guys,

Back in the land of kesejukan. Had a good trip in Malaysia very tight as usual running all around KL and some other parts of Malaysia and Hanoi, but i managed to do some activities with the tigers. Those who I could not meet I made the effort to go the extra mile by visiting them at their work place (that included dragging my dad along who did not actually mind)

The thing i noticed is that how accurate the naming of each one of you are. When I met Barney tiger i was like OMG this fellow memang like Barney so comel and all that friendly summore can hug hug all like big purple dinosaur !

I also manged to get in a game of badminton but it was so so hot. Gosh the halls should have some kind of ventilation fan I almost pengsan many times.

ON YOUR VOTE

Hi Tigers,

Today its going to be a more serious post from me because i have just realised something:

Many Malaysians are all talkers but when they have their chance TO DO something about it they are not.

Imagine my disgust, shock and horror that many of my friends residing in Malaysia are not performing their duty as a Malaysian citizen which is to be registered to VOTE.

But when the time comes they sit down and go on and on saying its Malaysia its our country blah blah blah condemn other people, policies etc.

As it is they have made it very hard for people to be registered i.e not catering to the masses. For example folk like me abroad if we want to register I was told that I had to go down to London to register @ embassy imagine Greg and Nick having to go down to D.C !!!

Its so good to know that over here they make it so easy for people to be registered on the electoral role. They take into account people who cant leave their homes, cant walk etc but who also must have the chance like everyone else to be registered and vote. Do we Malaysians even think about Equal Opportunities ????

The thing is in the UK, if you are not on the electoral role you cant be in the credit rating system so you cant get credit cards, loans , mobile phone contracts etc. So in a way they have a system to get people to be registered. Next they make it easier, when I voted last yr for constituency (I can vote here Commonwealth ) postal votes are allowed. So I came back from work found my ballots, filled up, signed, posted back. Of course I could have gone to the voting stations but its all about GIVING PEOPLE OPTIONS.

My American friend living here can vote via postal vote. Why is this not allowed for fellow Malaysians ??? The thing is they are making it hard to get registered so for you folk living and breathing and paying tax in Malaysia don't tell me that its too hard to just get your ass to pejabat pos and register ! Getting registered is the CORE of the whole election process and if u cant even do that, then I have nothing much to say.

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE VERY DISAPPOINTING WAKE UP !!!!

Well Tigers sekalian its Rajen's bday !!! - Picture above taken 2 yrs ago of a Young Rajen

So I'll do a wee write up. Also this is my first post for 2008 and its for you Rajen !

I first met Rajen through Dinny. I was in Dinny's room - nothing like that ok downloading OC - Not Porn (I know you guys borrow Din's HD for Porn). Then Rajen came along we were sitting on the bed this guy was like so quiet not like the Rajen we all know and love kan ! So I was like 'Din whats up with your friend so un-friendly.'

But then later Rajen and me got close we go mamak together, hang out together one day he even took me shopping !!!! YES that's the truth about Rajen. Also we like to eat alot.

So there you go Happy Birthday to a great friend and buddy. I want to thank you on behalf of all the tigers for the brain child of this blog. I at least have something from home to look forward to but more so all the creativity and laughter you have provided us. Its Friday and its also when I introduce some music from this side of the world.

Today the person who I'm introducing is a very special girl. She won the X-Factor last year and according to Simon Cowell - who is God in the music industry if you don't know how powerful this guy is then google is your friend. What attracted the British public to vote for her is that she is very shy, no arrogance, humble, and in Simon's word one of the best vocals he has ever heard.

She is dubbed to be the next Marian Carey. Her new album is out and the single is Bleeding Love. I know there would be more serious songs to portray her voice this one is quite catchy but you know now days what sells. She is going to be big ! This is set to be No.1 and REMEMBER U HEARD IT HERE FIRST - LEONA LEWIS.BTW she has my hair.

Posting some variations you can google her for her x factor stuff that she sang for the finals etc. But live is the best way to tell is someone can sing !

On FLORIDA !!!! Part 1

Hello Beloved Tigers & Twiggy - coz she is very setia to us.

Since this blog is growing roots i best share my 2 cents news. I have booked my flights to Florida. This year I did not have a single holiday. In the UK its very important for people to have a holiday because our weather is so so so CRAPPY and this yr we did not have a summer.

Also I have my US visa that I paid so better make a trip.

For now very broke. I will update on where ill be going , where I will be staying, where in Florida coz Florida is huge people, etc etc....

On ambitions

Am ''menyahuting cabaran'' Lam and Nick to write about ambitions and growing up. Most of you guys know me as the fun and frisky Lioness but a woman's heart is like a deep ocean.


I know usually this blog is a fun cock talking blog which I love esp when Ra-Jen & Lam do Manta updates. So whilst still maintaining some mystery to my life am going release some.... ala bed times stories.


So ambitions for me while growing up looking back feels like one big lie. I feel life has cheated me simply because remember those 001 Brown cards that the teacher fills up every year from Std 1 - 7 yrs till Form 5 - 17yrs old) asking your 3 choice what do you want to be when you grow up.

Let just say no one puts HR in it ! No one says ''When I grow up I'm going to be a HR person!!!''


How I ended up doing HR is another story.


But my point is whenever I used to say what I really wanted to be I used to get strange looks not only by the teachers but also by people when posed the question.


Because it was a man worlds. Because Malaysia didn't have the facility for females also then you have the whole racial quota and since I come under ''others'', I have the least quota. Then at that time when I finished my O'Levels females in this industry in Malaysia or any South East Asian country didn't exist. But it does now. Sad right ! Then of course there was the whole scholarship, loan thing. Did I qualify............ No...............


But the fact is this whole school what you wanna be when you grow up thing is a good way for kids to grow up and realise that its a whole lie due to factors like colour, quota etc etc. unless you have ALOT of money.


So I ended being a HR person its not what I want to be but I/we usually don't get what we want out of life but we can try very hard to make the best out of it. As for my unachieved dream, I still have hopes and dreams to do it as a hobby when I strike the National Lotto.


Oh btw very touching incident. I rang Ra-Jen few days back he said I must come for Eugene's wedding. I said I cant come back twice a year he said ill sponsor your ticket. HEH WHAT A TOP CLASS FRIEND !!!!!!!!!! but me being me.............. I cant do that. Half- half maybe can HEHEHEH.
