Hehe, congrats on being featured on The Times online, now you gotta maintain the standards and integrity of your blog because you've become famous already.

Like they say, Steve is the real world's Willy Wonka.

As much as it may seem competitive, the fact remains that you are still paying a premium to own one of these Apple products. I think while Apple can still increase its market share over their competitors, I don't think they should go mainstream. If it goes to that point, it'll lose its premium appeal and I probably won't even look at Apple products anymore.

wah, so youre saying the only reason you look at apple products is because you want to have the "premium appeal"?

Greg said...

Well not exactly. What I'm saying is that part of the appeal of Apple products is its premium "feel" right. Would an iPhone be an iPhone if every tom dick and harry have one of it?

From the ah beng selling DVDs in petaling street to the nuovo rich cina businessman having one of those?

would the imac be an imac if every single cybercafe, office and household has one of those?

i think you have to clarify a difference between public perception of ubiquity and market success thru usability and design.

yes, people want macs cause they are cool. but a primary reason people think its cool is because of good design sensibility and usability of the product.
if it were treated more as a fashion accessory - that would hint at it being more of a "fad" right?

we'll roarsss ur socks off!!! AUUUUmmmmmm
